Kingsbury Episcopi - Blossom
Blossom poem

Bees, nectar, clover
Honey and larvae
Pollen on their legs
Queen bees, female bees.

A new tree has emerged
On a foggy night
Pixies live in a hole in the tree.
Roses are red
And violets are blue.
-- George Loxston --

Sheep grazing in a field

Sheep grazing in a field
Lambs feeding off their mother
Marker dye all over the sheep
In neat numbers
Sheep peeping through the trees of blossom at you
Lambs playing with each other
Nearly every sheep is sitting down
On the nearly dry grass
Sheep everywhere around you
Like noisy clouds
The orchard trees are being flooded with sheep
As the sheep run past
Their thick wool catches on the rough bark of the trees
The nettles of the field
Are defenceless to the sheep
-- Callum Corbett --

Blossom

The blossom is pink
It doesn't stink
It looks like a white cloud
It looks quite like an imaginary tree
Was it once a magic tree?
With power in its trunk
Did a dwarf once live there ?
But it is rotten now and about to fall down.

What and Why

Why school ?
Why sheep ?
Why orchards ?
Nobody knows

Why people ?
Why pictures ?
Why animals ?
I have always wondered
Why apples ? Why trees ?
We wouldn't be able to breathe.

Group Poems
Wow

I have just seen a one in a million tree
With creamy pink blossom
Its like heaven, so beautiful
Like a fairy is going to float down
And announce God's coming.

With diamond cobwebs
And twinkley leaves
Such delicate flowers
I smell them from here
Its magic from another world
Too beautiful for somewhere like this
Its puts me in a trance
I cannot talk cannot think.

Just Gaze.
-- Martha Parkinson --

Full Moon Tonight

The moon is breaking through the sky
Giving a creep to the orchard
There are some owls hooting somewhere
Under the trees sheep are grazing
The cows are bawling to each other
Right in front of me
The blossom is glistening white
Like diamond cobwebs in the moon
Petals are falling like snowdrops
A million at a time
Right in front of me.
-- Charlotte Gilliam --

Orchard textures

Sheep skin soft and smooth
In the tree are pink blossoms
The sheep are grazing in the field
Shining like a golden shield
Bark is rough and tough
Like some leather stuff
The grass is sometimes wet or dry
The sheep are really shy
Nettles sting !
-- Josh Smith --
